BOCA RATON, Fla. — Embry-Riddle (8-4-4, 3-4-2) clinched a spot in the 2026 Sunshine State Conference tournament on Saturday night as they defeated Lynn (4-9-2, 0-8-2) 1-0 at Bobby Campbell Stadium. ERAU dominated from start to finish with a 16-3 shot advantage, including a 6-0 edge in shots on goal, which marks the second time this season the Blue and Gold have limited an opponent to zero shots on goal. The Eagles' six shots on goal were the most they have had in an SSC contest this campaign. It was
Emma Johnson who eventually found the breakthrough at 63:05 to seal the win for ERAU.
First Half
In the first half, ERAU generated most of the chances, outshooting Lynn 9-2 and forcing the Knights into four saves. The first save came early at 1:13 when
Lisa Elowsson was denied by Emma Brunelli. However, Brunelli had to be replaced at 14:53 and Brooke Auth played the remainder of the night in goal for Lynn.
Berglind Thrastardottir had a pair of shots at 23:24 and 25:27, with Auth forced into a save on the first shot. She made two more stops in the final 10 minutes of the half to prevent
Lowa Ahlen and
Anna Hansson from opening the scoring, keeping the game at 0-0 through the first 45 minutes.
Second Half
The Eagles piled on the pressure in the second-half, earning seven corner kicks and taking six shots while limiting Lynn to one shot. The majority of the pressure came in the first 20 minutes of the half, with four shots and four corner kicks.
Emma Johnson scored at 63:05 to put ERAU in front 1-0 from nearly 30 yards out as Auth mishandled the shot.
Ebba Fjordskaer and
Anna Hansson each had a shot go off target as Embry-Riddle looked for an insurance goal. It was
