Chris Kin and Jonas Banouas Lead Men's Soccer to 2-1 Win

TAMPA, Fla. — Embry-Riddle (7-1-2, 3-1-1) defeated Tampa (4-3-3, 3-1-1) 2-1 on a rain-filled Saturday night at Pepin Stadium.

The Eagles extend their win streak to a second game and continue to find success in matchups that have not played out favorably in recent history. This win marks the first victory for ERAU against Tampa since moving to the Division II level of play.

Embry-Riddle opened the scoring following a pass from Jhamaleek Porter to the edge of the 18-yard box to Chris Kin who curled his shot in to the left corner of the goal overtop of the Spartans goalkeeper. The Eagles quickly found the back of the net again off of the foot of Jonas Banouas who was on the receiving end of Rimon Beyene's through ball from his own defensive third. The Spartans cut their deficit in half with a goal from Alex Dollard that came with just ten seconds remaining in the first half. The teams battled hard in the second half but five saves from the pair of goalkeepers was enough to keep both sides off of the scoresheet. Tampa finished with a 14-8 shot advantage, but ERAU put six shots on goal and made six saves, including a late stretch in which they withstood four Tampa shots from 77:09 to 88:07 without conceding.

First Half
- Chris Kin scored for the second consecutive game as he put the Eagles in front at 14:47 off an assist from Jhamaleek Porter.
- Jonas Banouas added to the lead at 25:03 from a Rimon Beyene assist, making it 2-0. It was Beyene's first assist of the season and the first goal for Banouas since Sept. 9 versus Rollins.
- Tampa pushed back with several shots, including saves by Marcos da Silva on shots from Dion Ruffo Luci and Taka Onoguchi, before Alex Dollard scored from an assist by Javaughn Barrett at 44:50.
- The Spartans outshot ERAU 9-4 in the first half, but the shots on goal were even at four apiece.

Second Half
- After Tampa earned a corner at 55:27, the Blue and Gold won a corner kick of their own after Colin Bailey saw his shot blocked.
- da Silva saved Felix Poschmann's shot at 71:13, and Porter put a shot over the crossbar less than a minute later as the second half stayed scoreless.
- Tampa pushed again late, but da Silva saved attempts from Taka Onoguchi and Tassilo Koerner, while Banouas put two shots on frame for the Eagles that were saved by Alex Hare.
- Tampa's Tommaso Polidori received a red card at 82:09 following his second yellow card of the contest.
