No. 15 Men’s Tennis Opens 2026 With Commanding Win Over St. Thomas

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – No.  15-ranked Embry-Riddle men's tennis opened the 2026 season with a commanding sweep of in-state, NAIA opponent St. Thomas on Saturday afternoon at the Crotty Tennis Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Eagles opened with doubles play, securing the point behind wins from courts two and three.
  • The duo of Joao Morgado and Joshua Nuyts led the way with a 6-2 win in No. 2 doubles followed by a 6-4 win in No. 3 doubles from Mason Cisco and Manuel Lanteri.
  • ERAU swept all three doubles pairings, capping with a 7-6 (8-6) win on court one.
  • Embry-Riddle's pressure would not be relinquished taking courts three, two, and four first, respectively.
  • The Eagles claimed a 4-0 lead with Lanteri being the first Eagle off in a 6-3, 6-2 win against Arthur Bugeaud in the No. 3 spot.
  • ERAU continued with a 6-3, 6-2 win for Enrico Rosellini at No. 2 singles.
  • Nuyts went 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 at No. 4 singles for the four-point edge, clinching the match.
  • Marc Mail added a 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 win over Hasenhkopf from the No. 1 position to boost the ERAU lead.
  • ERAU finished the day with a pair of 10-8 tiebreakers from Morgado and Frederick Tu at the No. 5 and No. 6 spots, respectively.
