ERAU Falls on the Road at Barry

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Embry-Riddle men's basketball came up a point shy on the road Saturday, falling 81-80 to Barry inside the Health & Sports Center after a last-second effort missed at the horn.

HOW IT HAPPENED

First Half
  • ERAU set the tone immediately, thanks to a Dawson Barr layup which sparked an early exchange of scoring.
  • The Eagles leveled the game at 15-15 with 13:23 left, battling in back-and-forth play.
  • Embry-Riddle would go on to build a seven-point edge in the half, but eventually settling for a 47-44 lead at the break with the help of 13 points from Jared Berry.
  • ERAU capped off the half with a buzzer-beating three-pointer from Braeden Moore.
  • Embry-Riddle shot for 42.1% from the field and just 3-of-12 from three in the first half.
  • Clarens Pierre asserted his dominance inside early with six boards and a pair of blocks to end the first 20 minutes of action. 
Second Half
  • Barry flipped the script in the second half, besting Embry-Riddle 37-33 in scoring.
  • The Buccaneers nearly stretched the edge to double figures about halfway through the period, but the Eagles fought hard to remain within reach.

  • Embry-Riddle closed out the game with a 7-2 stretch of scoring and an opportunity to win in the final seconds of the game with Chalier Torres missing three-pointer at the buzzer.
  • Shooting woes plagued the Eagles in the second half, shooting just 36.6% from the field and going 0-for-5 from beyond the arc.
