MELBOURNE, Fla. – Embry-Riddle softball traveled down to Melbourne, Florida to compete in a pair of games at the Panther Invitational hosted by Florida Tech.
The Eagles dropped a pair of close contests with the top two rated teams in NCAA Division II. ERAU opened with a 1-0 defeat to No. 1-ranked Auburn-Montgomery and closed with a 5-1 loss to No. 2-ranked Angelo State.

- ERAU is 3-7 against AUM, dropping the last two meetings to the Warhawks.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- AUM struck first with a two-out home run in the first inning, gathering four hits and leaving a pair stranded in the first frame of play.
- Embry-Riddle was held to just two hits for the game, recording a double from Emma Wood in the first inning and a single from Wood in the third.
- The Eagles posed their biggest threat in the bottom of the first, placing two runners on with the double from Wood and a walk from Shelby Morse.
- The Warhawks finished the game with an 11-2 hit advantage but struggled to score more than one run, leaving 11 baserunners stranded throughout the game.
INSIDE THE STATS
- Wood led with a single and a double, moving to fourth on the program's individual career doubles leaders list with 33.
- Morse pitched a complete game for the Eagles, recording five strikeouts and two walks.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After two scoreless innings, Embry-Riddle opened the scoring with three hits and a run scored in the third inning.
- Ava Arnold led the third inning with a single up the middle and was pushed to third on a ground out followed by a wild pitch, eventually scoring on an RBI single from Wood.
- Angelo State responded swiftly with a leadoff homer to tie the game in the bottom of the third.
- ASU added a run in the fourth with a second homer and later plated three in the bottom of the sixth on a single and a pair of doubles.
- ERAU recorded hits from Addison Orr and Arnold, but left a pair stranded to close the game with the four-run deficit.
INSIDE THE STATS
- Wood added another two hits alongside a pair of hits from Arnold.
- Wood now sits in fifth on the program's individual career hits list, recording a hit in her last 10 games played which goes back to the 2025 season.
- ASU edged out ERAU 10-6 in hits.
- Olivia Dougherty started in the circle and pitched for 5.1 innings, allowing nine hits and four runs while striking out three.
- Ava Domenici finished the final two outs, giving up a run, a hit, and a walk.
- The Eagles finished the game batting .231.
