HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Florida Southern would respond with a 10-1 run of their own, connecting on four of their next five field goals.

  • Sheplee delivered back-to-back buckets in just 40 seconds to give the Eagles a 23-16 advantage.
  • An and-1 from Turpening at the 6:14 mark extended the lead to 26-18, the Blue and Gold's largest margin of the half.

  • FSC responded with an 8-0 run of their own to close the quarter, setting up a back-and-forth finish between two schools that entered the day with identical 11-4 records in the SSC.
