No. 8 Embry-Riddle Shuts Out Tuskegee on Senior Day

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle Eagles have won back-to-back matches after defeating No. 40-ranked Tuskegee 4-0 on Senior Day at the Crotty Tennis Complex.

It was great day for the Eagles as they were able shut out the Golden Tigers and celebrate three seniors, Charley Egger, Ashley Moinard, and Kaylee Kirivong.

  • Today was the first overall meeting between the Eagles and the Golden Tigers.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Embry-Riddle opened the morning by securing two out of three courts in their doubles matches.
  • The No. 2 doubles matchup saw a win by Ashley Moinard and Mariana Cabrera, as they defeated Serena Pascauline and Gabrielle Blanks, 6-1.
  • At No. 1 doubles, Carlota Balseiro and Amelie Gindl fought hard but fell short 7-5 against Payton and Dotse.
  • Charly Egger and Kaylee Kirivong defeated Dayna Jackson and Asia McRae in a close match, with Egger and Kirivong securing a 7-6 (7-5) victory to help the Eagles secure the doubles point.
  • In No. 6 singles, Egger was able to sweep her series with a score of 6-2, and a dominating 6-0 against Gabrielle Geary.
  • Gindl followed with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Pascaline at No. 1 singles to keep the Eagles rolling.
  • Franziska Kremerskothen earned the clinching point at court five with wins of 6-1 and 6-3 to down Chloe Harrington.
  • ERAU recorded three unfinished matches between the Eagles and Golden Tigers as Balserio, Moinard, and Lila Small left their matches as is on courts two, three, and four, respectively.

Embry-Riddle will look to continue their winning ways at home for a big conference match against #7 Nova Southeastern on Wednesday, March 18th at 2:00 p.m. at the Crotty Tennis Complex.
