VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Embry-Riddle women's track and field sent three athletes to the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Norfolk State University at the Virginia Beach Sports Center on Friday and Saturday, March 13-14. The weekend was highlighted by Mikaela Miles' stellar performance in the triple jump, winning her first NCAA II national title.

How It Happened:
  • Allegra Triner and Taylor Roth began the weekend's competition for the Blue and Gold. Triner ran in heat one of the 800m prelims, finishing in 2:12.25 to place 17th overall and earn Honorable Mention All-American honors.
  • Roth toed the line in the second of three heats, sitting near the back of the pack in a tightly contested race before surging over the final 125m to track down Jade Avance of Ashland. Roth finished second in her heat with a time of 2:09.55, edging Avance's 2:09.56 by 0.01 seconds to earn an automatic qualification to Saturday's final.
  • Miles began the day Saturday for the Eagles, exploding on her first jump and soaring to 13.00m. The mark proved enough to win the national title, but she continued to build her series with jumps of 12.70m and 12.96m before delivering a final mark of 13.11m to separate herself from the field. Her marks of 13.00m and 13.11m were the two farthest jumps recorded this season.
  • Roth closed the meet for Embry-Riddle in the 800m final, finishing eighth with a time of 2:10.71 to earn First Team All-American honors.
Embry-Riddle finished 21st out of 52 teams that scored points.
