Baseball Downs Georgia Southwestern as No. 3/No. 2 Tampa Looms
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle baseball team earned a much-needed victory Wednesday night, defeating Georgia Southwestern 6-1 in its final tune-up before welcoming the No. 2 Tampa Spartans to Sliwa Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Third Inning
- Max McClusky reached first on a throwing error by the Hurricanes' shortstop.
- Collin Mastromauro followed with a single to the right side, advancing McClusky to third.
- McClusky was left stranded after a flyout to center field.
Fourth Inning
- Three straight flyouts to Jack Beyl in center field quickly ended the top half of the inning.
- Aidan Corn recorded his first hit of the night with a single through the left side.
- Malachi Peña followed with a base hit up the middle, moving Corn to second.
- Torin Foley drew a walk to load the bases with one out.
- Beyl opened the scoring with a two-RBI single to left, bringing home Corn and Pena and advancing Foley to third.
- McClusky reached for the second time with a single up the middle, scoring Foley and moving Beyl to third.
- Aiden Schmidt kept the inning going with an RBI single up the middle, as McClusky advanced to third.
- The Eagles finished the inning with a 4-0 lead on five hits.
Sixth Inning
- Keagan Perez closed out his outing, and Ben McIntire entered in relief.
- Three singles in the inning allowed Georgia Southwestern to score its only run.
Seventh Inning
- Tristan Harley entered to pitch for Embry-Riddle.
- Corn delivered again, hitting a solo home run to extend the lead to 5-1.
Eighth Inning
- Beyl doubled down the left-field line to put himself in scoring position.
- McClusky followed with a single to right, driving in Beyl for the final run of the game.
