DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle softball continues its winning ways with a 10-5 comeback win over Caldwell on Sunday afternoon in the Embry-Riddle Round Robin finale.
The Eagles scored seven runs in the fifth inning after being down 5-3 to secure their seventh straight victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
1st Inning:
- Caldwell opened with four hits including a two-RBI single to plate a pair of runs in the first inning.
- Embry-Riddle answered with three hits and took advantage of a pair of errors from the Cougars to claim a 3-2 lead.
- Mattea Martin drove in two runs on a single to right field before Kendal Wilkie scored advancing on a stolen base attempt from Martin.
4th Inning:
- Both teams were held scoreless in the second and third frames.
- Caldwell notched three hits to help drive in three runs, capturing the lead once again.
- Two singles and a fielder's choice loaded the bases before an RBI single tied the game.
- A passed ball scored a second run for a 4-3 edge before the Cougars added a third run on a wild pitch to lead by two.
5th Inning:
- Embry-Riddle scored seven runs on three hits and an error to reclaim control of the lead.
- The Eagles cut the deficit to one run with an RBI single from Vanessa Gilbert before leveling the game with a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch from Riley Sullivan.
- Shelby Morse plated two runs on a single down the left field line to give ERAU a 7-5 lead.
- Leah Oberkehr reached on a fielder's choice with the bases loaded and was followed by bases-loaded walks from Martin and Addison Orr to boost ERAU's advantage to five runs.
6th Inning:
- Embry-Riddle threatened to score a few more runs in the sixth frame, opening the inning with three straight singles from Ava Arnold, Sullivan, and Sierra Lipton.
- Two of the three were left stranded to close the inning.
INSIDE THE STATS
- Both teams notched 11 hits apiece while Caldwell gave up four errors.
- ERAU finished batting .367 (11-for-30), while CU batted .379 (11-for-39).
- The Eagles were 4-for-6 from lead off position and 2-for-3 with pinch hitting.
- Arnold led the batting with a 3-for-4 performance at the plate followed by Wilkie going 2-for-3.
- Martin finished with team-leading three RBI followed by Morse with two as a pinch hitter.
- ERAU batters were hit by pitches three times.
- Olivia Dougherty relieved Ava Domenici in the circle, pitching 3.1 innings while allowing two hits, one walk, and striking out a pair.
- Ava Domenici pitched the first 3.2 innings, allowing nine hits, four earned runs with two walks and a strikeout.
