DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The third-ranked Embry-Riddle women's tennis team took hold of the second spot in the Sunshine State Conference standings with a 5-2 victory over 8th-ranked Rollins at the Crotty Tennis Complex on Wednesday. The Eagles, who were tied with the Tars for second in the league standings heading into Wednesday's match, improved to 17-1 overall and 5-1 in league play.

Benedetta Sensi and
Daniela Fernandez Junquera gave the Eagles an early boost with a 6-1 defeat of Alyssa Novoa and Amina Abdulloeva at No. 2 doubles.
• The third-flight pairing of
Mariana Cabrera and
Ashley Moinard started down a break but rallied to score the clincher with a 6-3 victory against Nisan Can and Sydney Eckstein.

Amelie Gindl and
Laura Cuesta Bret teamed up for a 6-4 win over Stella Fruijtier and Lorin Tilipman to complete the doubles sweep.

Franziska Kremerskothen made quick work of Eckstein, winning 6-0, 6-0 to put the Eagles up 2-0.
• Sensi was next off the court, dispatching Milla Falster 6-2, 6-1 for the Eagles' third point.
• Rollins picked up its first point of the afternoon when fourth-ranked Novoa bested No. 20 Gindl 6-1, 6-4 at the top spot.
• After winning a first-set tiebreaker 7-6 (2), Fernandez Junquera dominated Tilipman 6-0 in the second to secure the team win for the Blue & Gold.
• After the Tars earned their second point on court two, Moinard closed out the scoring by topping Abdulloeva 7-5, 6-0.
