MELBOURNE, Fla. – Embry-Riddle softball continued its weekend series against RV Florida Tech with a Saturday afternoon doubleheader in Melbourne.
The Eagles won 3-1 in game one behind a strong pitching performance by
Shelby Morse before falling in walk-off fashion in game two.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Shelby Morse highlighted the game for the Eagles, balancing pitching and hitting as the the four-hole hitter.
- Morse pitched a complete game while allowing just one earned run, one walk, and striking out three batters in the process.
- The Eagles struck first in the top of the fourth, as Morse hit an RBI single to score Emma Wood for the one-run edge.
- Embry-Riddle followed by adding two runs in the top of the fifth.
- Leah Oberkehr notched an RBI ground out to scorer Addison Orr while Wood capitalized with an RBI single to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead.
- The Panthers were able to score one in the bottom of the seventh, but it was too late as Morse closed out with her eighth win of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles started off hot in the top of the first, plating three runs early by utilizing three hits and a Florida Tech miscue.
- Wood singled to start the opening rally followed by Mattea Martin reaching on an error by the shortstop, allowing Wood to score.
- Vanessa Gilbert followed with an RBI single to plate Martin and Orr added another RBI single to extend the lead to 3-0.
- In the second, the Eagles had two hits but couldn't capitalize in the inning.
- The Eagles gave up two runs in the bottom of the third and one run in the bottom of the fourth for the game to be tied at three.
- Two scoreless innings passed until the seventh when the Panthers walked-off the game on a fielder's choice to secure the 4-3 win.
INSIDE THE STATS
- ERAU led 10-7 in hits, batting .333 for the game led by Sierra Lipton and Wood with two-hit outings.
- Olivia Dougherty pitched 3.1 innings, allowing two earned runs, two walks and two strikeouts as the starter.
- Morse allowed one run and a walk in 3.1 innings of relief.
