HOW IT HAPPENED

• After three scoreless innings, the Eagles broke through in the fourth inning by plating three runs for the lead.
Jack Beyl opened the scoring with an RBI groundout, bringing home Cole Bullen.
Derek Lopez followed with a two-run single, scoring Torin Foley and Aidan Corn to extend the lead to 3-0.
• Embry-Riddle added its final run in the fifth inning when Corn drove in a run on a fielder's choice, making it 4-0.
• Nova Southeastern got on the board in the bottom of the fifth, capitalizing on an Embry-Riddle error and passed ball before adding another run on a fielder's choice to cut the deficit to 4-1.
• The Sharks tied the game in the sixth inning with a three-run home run.
• Miscues hurt the Eagles again in the seventh, as a balk allowed the go-ahead run to score, giving Nova Southeastern a 5-4 lead.
• In the ninth, Embry-Riddle put the tying run on base with a hit-by-pitch and a single from Colin Mastromauro, but the rally fell short as the final two batters struck out.
