DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle softball put together a pair of strong outings against No. 6 Saint Leo on Friday afternoon but unfortunately came up short in both contests to close out the home series against the Lions.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Embry-Riddle struggled to find offensive production early, recording a hit by Vanessa Gilbert in the second frame and a triple from Leah Oberkehr in the third.
- Saint Leo struck first in the fourth inning with a leadoff single and scoring on a throwing error for the 1-0 lead.
- The Eagles quickly responded with a two-out walk and an RBI double from Addison Orr to level the score in the bottom of the fourth.
- The Lions answered with a walk, sacrifice bunt, and a ground out to push the runner to third before scoring on a wild pitch for the 2-1 advantage.
INSIDE THE STATS
- ERAU held a 4-2 advantage in hits with Oberkehr leading the way with two.
- Orr's RBI double marks her 16th RBI of the season, fourth-best on the team in RBI and second-best on the squad with seven doubles this season.
- Shelby Morse pitched a complete game, her seventh of the season. She allowed one earned run on one walk and five strikeouts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Four scoreless innings opened the second game with Saint Leo threatening in the third with a single and walk, leaving two stranded.
- Embry-Riddle combined for three hits to plate the leading run in the fifth inning while also leaving two runners on the bases in the process.
- Orr led with a single and advanced on a sac bunt from Ava Arnold before scoring on an RBI base hit from Gianna Domenici, who entered as a pinch hitter.
- Unfortunately, Saint Leo responded with an RBI double, an RBI triple, and a stolen base at home for a 3-1 lead to force a pitching change.
- The Lions continued to add to the damage in the seventh inning, plating four runs to finish with a 7-1 advantage.

- Saint Leo led 8-3 in hits.
- Three pitchers appeared in the circle for ERAU with Dougherty getting the start.
- Dougherty allowed three earned runs on five hits, two walks, and three strikeouts.
