WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle took to Simpson Field on Saturday, closing the weekend series at Palm Beach Atlantic with an afternoon doubleheader in West Palm Beach.
The Eagles split the day, dropping game one before turning around and producing a season-high 17 hits for an 11-2 victory in the series finale.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Despite putting together seven hits, the Eagles fell 4-1 in game one while leaving a total of seven runners on base.
- PBA opened with a three-hit, one-run inning in the first to take an early advantage before plating two more in the second with an additional five hits.
- After scoreless affairs in the third and fourth frames, ERAU eventually added a run on the scoreboard in the fifth.
- Addison Orr homered to left field from lead-off position, cutting the deficit to two.
- The Eagles were held scoreless for two more innings while the Sailfish scored in the sixth to move to a 4-1 lead.
INSIDE THE STATS
- PBA finished batting .467 (14-of-30) while ERAU finished .259 (7-of-27) at the plate.
- Sierra Lipton led the Eagles with a 2-for-4 outing while Orr produced the 10th ERAU homer of the season and the first of her career.
- Leah Oberkehr, Shelby Morse, Emma Wood, and Jessica Van Zyl each recorded a hit as well.
- Morse knocked her fifth double of the season as one of two ERAU extra-base hits.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Game two was all ERAU as the Eagles blew open the game in the second frame and rolled to victory, scoring 11 runs for the second time this season.
- The Sailfish opened with a run scored in the first before Embry-Riddle answered with a six-run outing in the second.
- Embry-Riddle produced six total hits in the second inning and took advantage of a PBA error.
- ERAU got things going with a Shelby Morse single, a walk from Addison Orr, and a sac bunt from Vanessa Gilbert to line up an RBI double for Riley Sullivan.
- Jessica Van Zyl continued with a two-RBI single to give the Eagles a 3-1 lead before Mattea Martin drove in another run before an RBI walk from Morse moved the lead to four runs.
- Orr capped off the inning with another plate appearance and an RBI single to further separate the Eagles with a 6-1 lead.
- PBA scored their second and eventual final run of the game in the third frame thanks to an ERAU miscue.
- Embry-Riddle added one run in the fifth and two more in both the sixth and seventh innings.
- The Eagles produced four hits in the fifth frame and finished with a run on a single from Oberkehr.
- A leadoff double from Morse in the sixth sparked the offense to score an eighth and ninth run as part of a two-hit, two-error inning.
