DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Embry-Riddle (5-0-1) picked up their third consecutive win as they defeated SCAD Savannah (0-7-0) by a result of 1-0 Tuesday at Embry-Riddle Soccer Stadium. This victory marks the fourth result this season in which the Eagles have been able to hold onto a one goal advantage.
The Eagles generated second-half pressure with seven shots and two corner kicks during the first 15 minutes of the second half, but the match remained scoreless. However, at the 73:05 mark,
Jhamaleek Porter was able to find the back of the net. Porter's goal followed
Samuel Magda's penalty kick that was initially saved and deflected by SCAD's keeper Max Keller before the junior buried the rebound. The Blue and Gold finished with a 17-11 shot advantage and put seven shots on goal, while
Marcos da Silva made four saves to keep SCAD Savannah scoreless. da Silva gathered his first shutout of the season shortly after being named SSC Defensive Player of the Week earlier in the day.
First Half
- SCAD Savannah created early chances, including shots by Nicolas Lozano and Ben Stephenson in the fourth minute, with
Marcos da Silva saving Stephenson's attempt before later stopping Sebastian Gomez at 6:14.
- ERAU generated a set-piece stretch midway through the half, earning corner kicks at 16:37 and 19:56 around a
Colin Bailey shot.
- Play tightened during a foul-heavy stretch from 25:52 to 33:28, and Embry-Riddle had a late
Joseph Ben-Ezra shot saved before adding a corner kick and a
Lukas Bludau shot in the final minutes of the scoreless half.
Second Half
- The Eagles opened the half with pressure, earning three corner kicks from 48:56 to 53:11 and taking six shots by 54:37, including
Jhamaleek Porter's saved attempt at 52:06.
- SCAD Savannah answered with five shots and one corner from 55:32 through 65:14, while da Silva made saves on Wenzel Lindmoser at 57:25 and Sebastian Gomez at 65:14 as the match remained 0-0.
- After Max Keller saved
Samuel Magda's penalty kick at 73:05, Porter scored at the same timestamp to put ERAU ahead 1-0. It was Porter's first goal of the season.
- The Blue and Gold later added a corner at 86:34 and had a second attempt at a penalty kick when Porter's strike was saved at 86:52 before finishing the 1-0 win.
