| By:
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Embry-Riddle was the first NCAA Division II team across the line at the FSU Pre-Regional on Friday, placing fifth overall in a 29-team women's field with 154 points.

The Eagles were edged by four points by NCAA Division I Florida Atlantic and finished ahead of every other NCAA Division II program in the race, including seventh-place Florida Southern. Embry-Riddle's five scorers covered Apalachee Regional Park in a combined 1:52:59, averaging 22:35 per runner for the third-fastest team time in program history.

Taylor Roth paced the Eagles again, crossing 19th in 22:09.3. Freshman Izzy Villarreal was next in 25th at 22:20.7, followed by Emily Tubbs in 34th (22:37.5), Madison Johnson in 45th (22:52.1) and Charlotte O'Brien in 53rd (23:00.0). Just 50.7 seconds separated Roth from O'Brien, the tightest 1-5 split of any scoring team outside the top four.

Florida State won the team title with 17 points.
