Biography
Jake Pickett enters his second season as graduate assistant coach at Embry-Riddle after a strong four-year career as the point guard for the Eagle program.
Pickett directed Embry-Riddle’s offense for the past three years as starting point guard. Pickett appears in many of the Eagle record books including finishing fourth in career assists (526), fifth in career assist average (4.05), sixth in career three-pointers made (143) and seventh in career steals (179). Pickett also recorded the Eagles' eighth-best single-season mark for assists (185) and steals (68) in 2005-06.
A native of Chuluota, Fla., Pickett was a starter and two-year letterwinner at Oviedo High School. He helped lead the Lions to a 55-8 overall record during his two seasons with the program and was named Sixth Man of the Year as a junior and Playmaker of the Year as a senior. He averaged 12 points and five assists is his final season with OHS and was named to the Great Florida Shootout Academic Team.
Pickett graduated from ERAU with a degree in Aviation Business Administration in 2006.
