Fall 2012: Ranked fifth in the ITA/NAIA preseason singles poll…was 7-1 in fall play with his only loss coming to teammate Patrick Besch in the title match of the USTA/ITA Regional championship (Sept. 30)…paired with J.R. Leonik for a 2-2 doubles record…Leonik and Freeman are ranked ninth in the national preseason doubles poll.
As A Junior in 2011-12: NAIA first team All-American…ITA All-American…The Sun Conference Player of the Year for the second straight season…ranked No. 2 in the final ITA/NAIA national singles poll…Capital One College Division first team Academic All-American…NAIA All-America Scholar-Athlete…ITA All-America Scholar-Athlete…Academic All-Conference…led the team in singles wins with a 23-9 record…anchored the top spot in the Eagle lineup going 13-6 overall and 5-0 in conference play…Freeman and J.R. Leonik teamed up for a team-best 25-4 doubles record, including a 9-3 mark at the No. 2 spot and 6-0 league record…the duo notched wins against NCAA II No. 2 Barry (Feb. 5), No. 5 Concordia (N.Y.) (March 4), No. 8 Rollins (Feb. 8) and No. 4 Lynn(Apr. 1) and closed out the season on a six-match winning streak…the tandem was ranked ninth in the final ITA/NAIA national doubles poll. Fall 2011: The top-ranked singles player in the NAIA according to the ITA preseason poll…posted a 10-2 singles record…captured the USTA/ITA Florida Regional with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 win over teammate Simon Felix (Oct. 2) to advance to the ITA National Small College Championships…became the second men’s player in ERAU history to win a national singles title as he bested Bruno Tiberti 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 in the NAIA National Singles Championship match…downed Emory’s Dillon Pottish 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the ITA Super Bowl final…teamed up with JR Leonik for a 4-1 doubles ledger…the duo’s only loss came in the semifinals of the ITA Regional tournament where they fell to Felix and Peter Francis 6-3, 6-1…Freeman and Leonik are ranked 15th in the ITA preseason poll.
As A Sophomore in 2010-11: NAIA First Team All-American…ITA All-American…Sun Conference Player of the Year…recipient of the NAIA’s Ward-Ballinger Award, which is presented to the individual at the national tournament who exhibited outstanding play, leadership and sportsmanship…compiled a 14-4 singles record all at the No. 1 singles position…gritted out a 7-6, 7-6 win over Boris Obama to lead ERAU to a 7-2 upset of NAIA No. 2 Auburn Montgomery (Mar. 14)…dispatched Erik Brunskog 6-1, 6-1 to help the Eagles to their first ever win over NCAA I Central Florida (Apr. 13)…battled to a three-hour 6-7, 7-5, 6-3 win over Bruno Savi to clinch the Eagles’ national semifinal win over Auburn Montgomery (May 20)…went 13-10 in doubles, including a 5-3 record with Peter Francis as his partner…also partnered with Jan Hoekzema and David Spennare, posting 3-3 marks with each player.
As A Freshman at Wisconsin: Finished at 24-15 overall, including a 7-1 mark in Big Ten play…saw action primarily at the No. 4 – No. 6 singles positions…was 5-0 at the No. 6 spot…advanced to the quarterfinal round of the Big Ten Singles Championship…compiled a 16-14 doubles record… was 8-2 in fall tournament play…went 3-0 playing at the top doubles spot in dual matches…reached the semifinals of the Big Ten Doubles Championship …named the team’s Freshman of the Year.
Prep: 2009 graduate of Mater Dei High School where he played under Coach Marianne Danse…touted as a five-star recruit…ranked 56th nationally and 13th in the state of California…captured the 2008 St. Louis National Clay Court title…achieved a No. 1 doubles ranking in Southern California in 2007…won the Ojai 104th Annual doubles title in 2008….three-time team MVP…National High School All-America selection.
