2012-13: INDOOR - Competed in four meets in his first indoor season as an Eagle…finished in second in the pole vault with a 4.50m mark at the ERAU Challenge (Jan. 20)…best mark came at the Tiger Paw Invitational (Feb. 9) with a vault of 4.60m. OUTDOOR: Competed in eight meets for the Blue and Gold… turned in a “B” standard with a college-best vault of 4.70m at the ERAU Spikes Classic (April 6)… earned an All-Conference selection narrowly missing out on first-place losing to teammate, Adam Holdsworth, on number of jumps with a mark of 4.60m at The Sun Conference Championships (April 22)…competed at the NAIA Outdoor Championships (May 25).

AT BUTLER COMMUNITY COLLEGE: Spent the 2011-12 season competing for Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kan.…qualified for the NCCAA Indoor Nationals in his first collegiate competition with a vault of 4.45m…recorded a vault of 4.61m at the Jayhawk Invite.
 
PREP: 2011 graduate of JW Mitchell High School…holds the school record in the pole vault with a mark of 4.50m…won the FHSAA Class 3A State Championship in the pole vault in 2011.
 
PERSONAL: Born in Bailey, Colo. on Oct. 5, 1992…son of Andrew and Sondra Bales…brother, Evan, is on the ERAU track & field team...majoring in Aviation Maintenance Science.
