2009: CROSS COUNTRY – Finished as a top-five Eagle runner in all eight meets he ran in…recorded the fifth best time in program history of 24:47.77 at the Charles Bowles Invitational (Oct. 3), making him the fourth fastest Eagle runner…was the No. 2 Eagle finisher at the Florida Tech Invite (Sept. 12) and the Hatter Invitational (Oct. 16)…placed third overall at the Asics Invitational (Oct. 10)…member of the All-Conference team.

2008-09:  OUTDOOR – Placed third in the 5K at the Spike’s Classic (Mar. 21) with a time of 15:24.94…raced to a second and third place finish in the 5K (16:01) and 10K (32:58.65), respectively at the 2009 Sun Conference Championship (Apr. 19)…placed 13th in the NAIA Outdoor Nationals (May 21-23) marathon with a time of 2:41:32. INDOOR – Raced to a first place finish in the 5K at the Winter Sun (Jan. 17) with a time of 15:32.30…completed the 5K in a time of 15:11.28 at the ERAU Challenge (Jan.31)…participated in the 3000m and 5K at the Tiger Invitational (Feb. 13-14), placing fifth (8:51.64) and third (15:19.90), respectively. CROSS-COUNTRY –Scored points in nine events for the Eagles…took home first place overall at the UCF Knights Invitational (Sept.6) with a time of 26:30.90…was the squad’s No.1 finisher and second overall at the Hatter Invitational (Oct. 17), clocking in at 26:20…helped the Eagles to a first place finish at The Sun Conference Championships (Nov. 8) with a time of 25:51…named to All-Conference team…the became the second-fastest runner in Embry-Riddle history after posting a career-best 25:24 at the NAIA Championships (Nov.21).

2007-08: OUTDOOR TRACK – Finished first in the 10K in 34:46.74, third in the 1500m in 4:20.12 and first in the 5K in 17:02.48 at the FSC Championships (Apr. 21)…named Co-FSC Runner of the Year. INDOOR TRACK – Competed at the NAIA National Indoor Track and Field Championships (mar. 6-8)...named an NAIA All-America Scholar Athlete…placed first at the Blue Gold Invite in the 5K with a time of 15:35.45 (Feb. 2)…set a new ERAU 5K record of 15:32 at Winter Sun Meet #1 (Jan. 19). CROSS COUNTRY – Ran in eight meets for the Blue and Gold…was the Eagles No.1 runner in six meets, finishing first overall in two…crossed the finish line first at the ERAU/Smoothie King Invitational (Sept. 22) with a time of 27:21.93…member of the All-Region and All-FSC teams.
 
2006-07: OUTDOOR TRACK - Met the “A” standard to qualify for nationals in the half marathon after a fourth-place time of 1:13:53 at the Seaside Half Marathon (Mar. 4)…crossed the finish line at 34:34.89 when competing in the 10K at the FSU Relays (Mar. 29)…ran to a 10:24.96 finish in the 3000m steeple chase at the FSC Championships (Apr. 19)…also participated in the 4x800m relay that posted a season-best time of 7:49.49 and qualified for nationals under the “B” standard at the FSC Championships (Apr. 19)…hit two career marks at the Georgia Tech Invitational (May 12) in the 800m (2:00.62) and the 1500m (4:13.85)…was one of the first two ERAU runners to ever participate in the marathon at nationals (May 26) and finished in sixth place with a time of 2:51:07.16. INDOOR TRACK – Set two ERAU indoor track records with his 9:03.98 finish in the 3000m at the Florida Intercollegiate Track Meet (Jan. 13) and his 15:44.05 finish in the 5K at the Tiger Invitational (Feb. 9)…ran the 3000m in 9:07.03 at the ERAU Indoor/Outdoor Challenge (Jan. 27) and set the school record in the process. CROSS COUNTRY – Finished first at the Florida Tech Invitational in his rookie debut, coming in at 26:24.5...ran his personal best time of 26:16.3 at the Florida State Invitational, crossing as the first Eagle...earned five first place Eagle finishes...member of the 2006 All-FSC team.

Prep: Graduated from Brentsville High School in 2006...earned four letters in cross country under head coach Rob Dulin...helped his team to state titles in freshman junior and senior seasons, and a fourth-place finish as a sophomore...ran his high school best time of 4:29 in the 1600m and 15:46 in the 5K...indoor and outdoor All-State selection in the 1,600m...All-State at 3200m in outdoor track...captured district and regional titles as a junior...All-State selection in cross country in 2005...National Merit Scholar.

Personal: Born in Fairfax, Va. on Aug. 15, 1987...son of Jim and Jean Gehlsen...majoring in Aerospace Engineering.
