Biography
2018-19 (Sophomore): Helped the Varsity 8 boat to a third-place time of 14:11.132 at the Head of the Hooch (Nov. 3)...finished fourth in the Varsity 8+ race at the Head of the South with a time of 15:16.4 (Nov. 10)...won the Pairs race in 7:05.30 and finished third in the Varsity 8 race in 6:03.60 at the FIRA Championships (April 6).
2017-18 (Freshman): Part of the 8+ boat that placed fifth in the Championship 8+ race at the Head of the Hooch in 15:32.67 (Nov. 10)…clocked a 6:04.6 in the 1V8 boat in a dual meet with Florida Tech (March 3)…helped the Varsity 8 boat defeat Rollins at TARS Regatta in 5:52.7 (March 14)…won a state title with the Freshman/Novice 4+ boat at the FIRA Championships with a time of 7:09.40 (April 7).
Prep: Graduated from Pine-Richland High School in 2017…named to the honor roll all four years…received numerous national awards for academics from the Air Force Junior ROTC, including the Freedom Foundation Award for Academics, the Tuskegee Airman, Inc. Award, the American Legion Scholastic Award and the Scottish Rite Southern Jurisdiction Award.
Personal: Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania…son of Susan Katich…majoring in Aerospace Engineering.
