Biography
2020-21 (Junior): Eagles of Excellence Scholarship recipient...took second in the “B” boat in Varsity Four (7:50.36) at the FIRA Championships (April 3)…placed fifth in the “B” boat in Varsity Eight as well…recorded a second-place result (6:38.32) in the second “B” Varsity Eight race at the Stetson Invitational (April 10).
2019-20 (Sophomore): Took second in the “B” V4+ boat in 11:38.5 at the Hatter Invitational (Oct. 26)…also placed fifth in the “C” V8+ boat at the same regatta with a time of 11:45.9 (Oct. 26)…won the Collegiate and Club 8+ race in 16:22.0 at the Head of the South (Nov. 9).
2018-19 (Freshman): Placed third in the Novice 4 "A" boat with a time of 8:16.1 at the TARS Regatta (March 14)...finished fourth in the Novice 8+ semifinals at the SIRA Championships with a time of 7:07.47 (April 20).
Prep: Graduated with honors in 2018 from Moorestown High School...led a four-person research project into using plants on Mars as part of a NASA challenge...Athletics Award.
Personal: Born in Amsterdan, Netherlands...son of Regina Giandomenico and Fred Spier...majoring in Aerospace Engineering.
