2021-22: Peach Belt Conference Team of Academic Distinction…OUTDOOR: USTFCCCA All-South Region selection in the decathlon…hit the NCAA II provisional standard and earned Peach Belt Conference Field Athlete of the Week honors with 6,443 points and a first-place finish in the decathlon at the IMG Academy Spring Break Invitational (March 19-20)…won the decathlon with 5,512 points at the 2022 Peach Belt Conference Championships…recorded a personal best 6,487 points at the UMO Multis (May 12-13). INDOOR: Also earned All-South Region honors in the heptathlon…recorded PRs in the high jump (1.88m), 1000m (2:56.20) and the pole vault (4.10m) on the way to a personal best 4,491 points in the heptathlon at the JDL Multi & Track Meet (Feb. 7-8).
 
2020-21: OUTDOOR: USTFCCCA All-South Region selection in the decathlon and discus…competed in six meets…his first competition of the season yielded a PR in the javelin with a throw of 41.08m (134-9) at the ERAU First Chance Last meet (Feb. 20)…recorded a career-best and an ERAU season-best 46.71m (153-5) discus throw t the Embry-Riddle Eagle Invite (March 6)…scored a career-best 6,272 points in the decathlon at the Spikes Classic (April 2-3) and followed that up with PRs in the 110m hurdles (15.27) and pole vault (3.96m (12-11.75)) at the Embry-Riddle Invite (April 17)…took home gold in the discus (43.47m (142-7)) and silver in the decathlon (4,841 points) at the Peach Belt Conference Championships (April 30 – May 1)
 
2019-20: INDOOR: Competed in five meets as a true freshman...finished fourth in the Discus (42.52m) at the Embry-Riddle Bahamas House First Chance Last Chance (Feb. 22)...scored 4,006 points in the Heptathlon at the Samford Multi Meet 2020 (Jan. 17).
 
Prep: 2019 graduate of Plano Senior High School…turned in high school personal best times of 15.20 in the 110m hurdles and 40.30 in the 300m hurdles…also lettered in football.
 
Personal: Born in Roodepoort, South Africa…son of Arend de waal and Hannalie Adriaanse…majoring in Aeronautical Science…named ERAU Athletics’ Student-Athlete Advisory Council Secretary/Treasurer for 2021-22.
