2022-23: Peach Belt Conference Team of Academic Distinction...Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll Gold Scholar. OUTDOOR: Recorded a personal best 11.74 in the 100 meters while coming in first place at the decathlon at the 2023 Peach Belt Conference Outdoor Track Championship (April 20-21).
2021-22: D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award…Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll Silver Scholar…Peach Belt Conference Team of Academic Distinction. INDOOR: USTFCCCA Indoor All-Region selection in the heptathlon…scored a career-best 4,170 points in the heptathlon at the JDL Multi & Track Meet (Feb. 7-8) with PRs in the 60m (7.60), shot put (10.74m (35-3)), 60m hurdles (9.76) and 1000m (2:54.06). OUTDOOR: finished second in the decathlon with 5,077 points at the IMG Spring Break Invitational (March 18) with personal bests in the discus (29.68m (97-4)) and 1500m (4:45.69)…recorded a PR of 1.70m (5-7) in the high jump at the Embry-Riddle Spike’s Classic (April 1-2)…had a PR of 3.90m (12-9.5) in the pole vault on the way to fourth place in the decathlon at the Peach Belt Conference Championships (April 22-23).
2020-21: Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll Silver Scholar…Peach Belt Conference Team of Academic Distinction. OUTDOOR: Scored a career-best 5,582 points in the decathlon at the Spikes Classic (April 2-3)…posted a pair of bronze medal finishes at the Peach Belt Conference Championships (April 30-May1) with 4,422 points in the decathlon and a PR of 44.08 (144-7) in the javelin.
Prep: Graduated from Central Catholic High School in May 2020…coached by Mike Leal and Sully Grella…named team captain for the indoor and outdoor track and field teams…helped the Raiders to a state championship in 2019… garnered first team All-Conference honors and was fifth in the pentathlon at the state meet in 2020…holds the CCHS record of 6.47m (21-3) in the long jump…owns personal records of 5,548 points in the decathlon and 3152 in the pentathlon…also lettered in soccer at CCHS.
Personal: Born in Newburyport, Massachusetts…parents are Walter and Sarah Sorenson…volunteered with Special Olympics, Surfing for Smiles and Relay for Life…an Aeronautical Science major.
