Biography

2022-23 (Freshman): Competed in 12 races for the Eagles as a coxswain…accumulated one gold and one silver medal…directed Blue and Gold boats to five wins…started the season with a fourth place showing (16:31.843) out of 39 boats in Fours at the Head of the Charles (Oct. 23)…defeated Jacksonville (Oct. 29) in Fours…kicked off the spring by downing Rollins (Mar. 4) in a dual in Eights (5:58.3)…earned a silver medal in Fours (6:39.07) at the FIRA Championships (Apr. 1)…defended the program’s Varsity Four title at the SIRA Championships (Apr. 16), edging Texas by .110 to win with a 6:47.248…placed fourth (6:36.911) out of 27 boats in Fours at the Dad Vail Regatta (May 12).

Prep: 2022 graduate of Hickory High School…six-time captain of the rowing team…member of the National Honor Society…achieved Eagle Scout status.

Personal: Born in Chesapeake, Virginia…parents are Alison and Erik Nilsson…majoring in Aeronautical Science…desires to become an airline pilot…his father, Erik, was a member of the swimming and water polo programs at the Virginia Military Institute (VMI)…grandson of Phillip White, an NCAA men’s golf national champion at Indiana University.
