Jay and Leila Adams Family Athletic Endowed Scholarshipdonate button
Established in 2018, by friends and family of Jay and Leila. Jay and Leila Adams have been longtime ERAU Athletic supporters and great mentors to our coaches and student-athletes. This scholarship is awarded to student-athletes selected from among ERAU’s 20 intercollegiate sports programs.

Established in 1999 by Bill Ashe’s wife, Edie, in memory of her late husband. This award is given to the men’s basketball student-athlete who embodies the ideals of “The Package: Student, Person and Player” in the spirit and tradition of Embry-Riddle Athletics.

 

David Counts Memorial Basketball Scholarshipdonate button
Established to honor David Martin Counts who loved the game of basketball and played recreationally whenever the opportunity presented itself. He loved the game! He lost his life to a fatal heart attack at the age of 43, while playing a game with friends. He died doing what he loved most, and he would be proud to know that his passion for the sport continues through the scholarship foundation established in 1998 by his friends and family. This scholarship supports a men’s basketball student-athlete.

 

Jim & Cheryl Cunningham Athletic Endowed Scholarshipdonate button
Established in 2020 by Jim and Cheryl Cunningham, Jim and Cheryl are both retired ERAU professors that have been long-time supporters and fans of ERAU Athletics. Awarded annually, this scholarship supports student-athletes from the men’s basketball, women’s basketball, men’s soccer, and women’s soccer teams.

 

Eagles of Excellence Endowed Scholarshipdonate button
Established in 2010 by Linda Downs, Jim Henderson, and Brown and Brown Insurance the scholarship was originally named the Champions of Character scholarship. With ERAU Athletics’ transition to NCAA Division, the scholarship was renamed the Eagles of Excellence scholarship. This scholarship provides support to student-athletes representing each of our 20 intercollegiate athletic teams.

 

Linda M. Geiger Memorial Scholarshipdonate button
Established in 2019, by Linda Geiger’s friends and family. This scholarship supports an ERAU student-athlete that embodies the characteristics of “The Package: Student-Person-Player. Linda and her husband are longtime supporters of ERAU Athletics. All three of their daughters played volleyball at ERAU and two of their daughters married former ERAU student-athletes.

 

Robert Alan Goldberg, Jr. Memorial Scholarshipdonate button
Established in 2001 by Mr. Robert Goldberg in honor of his late son, Bobby Goldberg, Jr. Bobby was a tremendous friend and contributor to the men’s basketball program, assisting his father in serving as the Assistant Statistician at Embry-Riddle basketball games for five years. Mr. Goldberg continues to remain a close friend to the Eagle basketball program and the University as a whole. This scholarship supports a men’s basketball student-athlete.

 

Austin Harney Memorial Basketball Scholarshipdonate button
Established in 2008 by Roberta Harney in memory of her late husband, Austin. Austin was full of energy and enthusiasm and loved the Embry-Riddle Athletics program, and especially the men’s basketball team. This scholarship is given to a men’s basketball student-athlete.

Established in 2014 by Jack and Pat, this scholarship supports ERAU student-athletes. Jack and Pat are longtime supports of ERAU Athletics, especially the sports of basketball, volleyball, baseball and softball.

 

John & Lynda Hodgson Family Endowed Scholarshipdonate button
Established in 2017 by John and Lynda, this scholarship supports a men’s basketball student-athlete that demonstrates the characteristics of the Total Package: Student-Person-Player.

 

John & Lynda Hodgson Family Women’s Basketball Endowed Scholarshipdonate button
Established in 2018 by John and Lynda Hodgson, this scholarship supports a women’s basketball student-athlete that demonstrates the characteristics of The Package: Student-Person-Player.

 

Coach Ruby Knabe Men’s Tennis Endowed Scholarshipdonate button
Established in 2020 by Coach Knabe’s former players and family. Rudy Knabe was named the first head coach of the men’s tennis program in 1992 and coached the Eagles from 1992-99. This scholarship supports a men’s tennis student-athlete.

 

Julian & Dora Lopez Family Endowed Memorial Scholarshipdonate button
Established in 2018 by the friends and family of Julian and Dora. Julian and Dora are the parents of ERAU Women’s Golf Head Coach Maria Lopez and have been longtime supporters of ERAU Athletics, in particular the men’s and women’s golf programs. This scholarship supports a women’s golf student-athlete.

 

H. Holcomb Perry Jr. Women’s Basketball Memorial Scholarshipdonate button
Established in 2019 by Dr. Bill and Dr. Anne Grams to honor Anne’s father. Mr. Perry Jr. was a long-time lawyer in Georgia, where he helped found the Georgia Bar. Mr. Perry was known as a long-time community support and believed in the power of servant leadership. This scholarship supports a women’s basketball student-athlete who best represents Mr. Perry Jr.’s character and servant leadership.

Established in 2019 by Radiology Associates. This scholarship supports a softball student-athlete.

 

Robert “Rob” Ridder Memorial Scholarshipdonate button
Established in 2016, by friends and family of Rob Ridder. This scholarship supports a student-athlete and/or member of the men’s basketball program that embodies Rob’s character and passion for basketball.

 

Steve and Vicky Ridder Endowed Scholarshipdonate button
Established in 2004 by ERAU and Daytona Beach community leaders, this scholarship is annually awarded to a male and female student-athlete.

 

Charles B. Ryan Memorial Scholarshipdonate button
Established to support a men’s and women’s golf student-athlete.

 

Kate Schwikert-Waidmann Endowed Memorial Scholarshipdonate button
Established in 2019 by family and friends of Katherine Schwikert-Waidmann. A 2002 graduate and former ERAU Women’s Soccer alumnae, Kate was known to her teammates and coaches as “Schwiks” and respected for her tenacity and competitiveness on the field and her passion for family and friends off the field. Kate was diagnosed with appendix cancer in 2012 and went into remission in 2013. Unfortunately, her cancer returned, and she passed away in November 2014. Her memory lives on through the annual Color Me Kate 5K Run. This scholarship supports a women’s soccer student-athlete that most demonstrates Kate’s characteristics.

 

David & Toni Slick Endowed Basketball Scholarshipdonate button
Established in 2004 by former Embry-Riddle Board of Trustee member, David Slick and his wife, Toni. Their scholarship represents what it means to work hard, have the right priorities, and do things the right way. This scholarship supports a men’s basketball student-athlete.

 

Ken & Shirley Sliwa Memorial Funddonate button
The Kenneth & Shirley Sliwa Memorial Fund was established in 1997 by Shirley Sliwa, mother of former ERAU President, Dr. Steve Sliwa, and widow of Ken Sliwa. When Shirley passed away, Dr. Sliwa added his mother to the name of the fund. The Ken & Shirley Sliwa scholarship is awarded annually to an Eagle baseball player who leads his team through his example of academic commitment, tenacity, work ethic, enthusiasm, selflessness and hustle.

 

Nick & Joan Spiroff Endowed Scholarshipdonate button
Nick and Joan became loyal and dedicated fans purely by fate. They drove past the ERAU Athletics marquee announcing a game one night and have been fans ever since. The scholarship was created for a men’s basketball player with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better who embodies the Student-Person-Player philosophy.

 

Howard Walls Jr. Track & Field Memorial Endowed Scholarshipdonate button
Established in 2019 by the friends, family, teammates, and coworkers of Howard. Howard Walls competed on the Embry-Riddle men’s track & field team from 2006-10. He holds the distinction of being the Eagles’ first All-American and was inducted into the ERAU Athletics Hall of Fame posthumously in 2019. This scholarship supports a men’s or women’s track & field student-athlete that best represents Howard’s character, work-ethic, and servant leadership.

This scholarship supports a student-athlete that has recently completed his/her eligibility and who are within one year of graduation.
