Prep: Graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 2011…awarded the Iron Man honor in both his junior and senior seasons…Cal Ripken Jr. award winner in 2011, as well as All-District Honorable Mention as a senior…hit .369 with 41 hits, 28 RBIs and 24 runs in his senior year…pitched 59.2 innings with a 7-3 record and 3.18 ERA while fanning 50 batters.
 
Personal: Born in Oak Ridge, Tenn. on Apr. 5, 1993…son of Lisa and Andrew McLaughlin…majoring in Aeronautical Science…sister Jaimee was a varsity rower for the University of Tennessee.
