Biography
2002: Competed in four regular season meets...posted a 25:43.10 at the four-mile UCF Invitational (Sept. 6)...helped the Blue and Gold to its second team title with a 32:38.44 time at the Florida Tech Invitational (Sept. 14)...honorable-mention Florida Student of the Year.
2001: Ran in all seven races, holding the No. 5 spot for most of the season...ran sub-30-minute times in four of seven races...also finished in the top-20 in each of his final three meets of the year...registered a career-best time of 29:38.60 at the Disney Classic (Oct. 6)...crossed the line fifth for the Eagles and 10th overall at the Florida Tech Invitational (Oct. 13), rounding out the team's first-ever meet championship...claimed 15th place at the 2001 regional (Nov. 3) with a time of 31:14.
2000: Did not run.
1999: Competed in all six of the team's meets as a freshman...the Eagles' number five runner in their first-ever event, he ran a 35:19 at the Central Florida Invitational (Sept. 11)...recorded his best time of the year (31:13) in Embry-Riddle's final regular-season meet, the South Florida Invitational (Oct. 15)...claimed 34th overall at the FSC Championships (Nov. 6) with a time of 35:23.
High School: 1999 graduate of Wellsboro Area High...four-year starter and letterwinner for the Hornets...team captain and coach's award winner...also competed in track.
Personal: Born in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania on October 16, 1980...son of David and Karen Hazelton...honorable mention Florida Sun Conference All-Academic team...also involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Air Force ROTC and AIAA at Embry-Riddle...majoring in engineering physics.
