2009-10: CROSS-COUNTRY – Participated in five meets as an Eagle…finished 12th overall at the Asics Invitational (10/10/09) with a mark of 30:32.60…recorded his season-best time at the Mt. Dew Invite (9/18/09) in 28:50.10.

2008-09:  OUTDOOR – Took third place in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 11:14.07 at the Spike’s Classic (Mar. 21) and 12th in the 1500m with a time of 4:34.16…placed second in the 5K run with a time of 19:55.84 at the Riddle Run-Around (Apr. 5) and fourth in both the 800m run and 400m hurdles, with times of 2:02.19 and 1:01.03, respectively…placed third in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10:28.51 and fourth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 59.34 in the 2009 Sun Conference Championship (Apr. 19). INDOOR – Placed third in the one mile run at the ERAU Challenge (Jan.31) in a time of 4:41.26 and 11th in the 1000m run with a time of 2:51.28…participated in both the 600m (1:26.63) and 800m (2:43.17) events at the ERAU Last Chance (Feb. 21) and placed 13th and seventh. CROSS COUNTRY – Competed in six events for the Eagles…posted his season-best time of 29:24 at the Florida Tech Invitational (Sept. 13)...finished ninth in the ERAU pack at the Sand Shark Invitational (Oct. 25) with a time of 30:21.

2007-08: CROSS COUNTRY – Competed in six events in his first season…scored third-place points for the Eagles at the Hatter Invitational (Oct. 12) after completing the course in 29:08…clocked his career best time at the Florida Tech Invitational (Sept. 8) when he crossed the finish line in 27:54.10

Prep: A 2007 graduate of Hickory High School…earned six varsity letters while participating in cross country, football and track...served as team captain for both cross country and track for two years.

Personal: Born in Fallon, Nev. on Jan 2, 1989…son of Kelley and Kevin Oakes…majoring in Aeronautical Science…accrued over 100 hours of community service at a hospital near his hometown.
