Biography
2022-23 (Junior): Placed third at Jacksonville (Oct. 29) in Fours (24:26.9).
2021-22 (Sophomore): Picked up two top-5 results at the Head of the South (Nov. 13), finishing third in the Club 4+ (17:23.5) and fourth in the Championship 8+ (14:50.3)… claimed two wins at the Tars Regatta (March 5), one in Varsity 4 “B” (7:35.0) and the other in Varsity 8 (6:10.8)… rowed a 6:06.8 for a runner-up placement in Varsity 8 at Stetson (March 12)…picked up two more second-place finishes at Florida Tech (March 19) in Varsity 4 (7:18.8) and Varsity 8 (6:29.5)…helped the Eagles win the overall title at the FIRA Championships (April 2) for the first time with silver medals in Varsity 4 ‘B’ (7:16.48) and Varsity 8 (6:10.89)…set a Varsity 1 program-record time of 7:18.078 in the time trial at the SIRA Championships (April 16)…went on to earn a bronze in the A Final (7:50.357).
2020-21 (Freshman): Grabbed a second-place finish (7:57.19) in the Freshman/Novice Four at the FIRA Championships (April 3)…also finished fifth (7:34.34) in the “B” boat in Varsity Eight.
Prep: 2020 graduate of Augustine Classical Academy…rowed for coaches Matthew Hopkins and Amy Chaffee…named Team Captain in 2018-19 and 2019-20…was the 2019 Scholastic Nationals gold medalist and Stotesbury Cup silver medalist in the men’s lightweight double.
Personal: Born in Saratoga Springs, New York…parents are Glen and Beth Knecht…brother, Alexander, graduated from Embry-Riddle in 2019…majoring in Homeland Security.
