Biography

Fall 2015: Was 6-2 in singles, notching two victories each at the ERAU Open (Sept. 18-20) and Juan Varon Wildcat Invitational (Oct. 28-30)…teamed up with Carlos Becke and Luke de Caires for a 6-1 doubles record…Zmak and de Caires won four straight matches, including an 8-5 victory over teammates Carlos Becke and Fabian Zierleyn in the championship, to capture the Gold flight title at the Wildcat Invitational (Oct. 30).
 
As a Junior in 2014-15: ITA/NAIA National Singles Champion…ITA/NAIA national doubles champion…ITA Super Bowl doubles champion…NAIA first team All-American…ITA All-American…went wire-to-wire as the top-ranked singles player in the ITA/NAIA national poll…The Sun Conference Player of the Year…first team All-Conference…CoSIDA second team Academic All-American…posted a 30-1 singles record…only loss of the season came in the ITA Super Bowl finals (Oct. 12)…18-0 in dual matches, playing all 18 matches at the top spot in the lineup…undefeated in conference play at 4-0…named The Sun Conference Player of the Week on April 6…turned in a 31-8 doubles record, including a 29-8 ledger in tandem with Jaime Sanchez-Canamares Rios…the duo was ranked No. 1 in the final ITA/NAIA national poll….Fall 2014: Successfully defended his ITA/NAIA national singles and doubles championships…became the first player in ERAU history to win back-to-back ITA Super Bowl doubles titles…maintained his spot at the top of the ITA/NAIA singles rankings…owned a 12-1 singles record…surrendered just nine games in his first four matches at the USTA/ITA Regional (Sept. 25-28)…topped teammate Jaime Sanchez-Canamares Rios 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 top repeat as regional champion… Sanchez-Canamares and Zmak are ranked No. 1 in the ITA/NAIA doubles poll…the duo held off Northwood’s Alvaro Itiurraga and Nicolas Guershanik  7-5, 6-7 (4), 10-6 to win the USTA/ITA regional crown…registered hard-fought, straight-set wins in their first two matches at the ITA/NAIA National Small College Championship…bested Westmont’s Joshua Barnard and Carl Linqvist 5-7, 7-5, 6-1 to capture the 2014 ITA/NAIA National doubles title…the duo also defeated Trinity’s Jordan Mayer and Aaron Skinner (4-6, 6-2, 6-2) and NCAA II Lynn’s top-ranked team of Daniel Riggs and Paolo Volpicelli (6-3, 6-4) to win the ITA Super Bowl.
 
As A Sophomore in 2013-14: ITA/NAIA national singles champions…ITA Super Bowl singles champion...ITA/NAIA national doubles champion…ITA Super Bowl doubles champion…named to the NAIA All-America first team…ITA All-American…ITA Collegiate All-Star Team selection…Sun Conference Player of the Year…part of The Sun Conference Doubles Team of the Year with Simon Felix…Capital One Academic All-America first team…set an ERAU single-season singles standard with a 32-2 record, which included a perfect 7-0 mark in conference play…undefeated against NAIA competition…went wire-to-wire as the No. 1-ranked singles player in the NAIA…closed out the dual match season on a 19-match win streak, playing all his matches at the top spot in the Eagle lineup…Zmak and Felix were 33-5 overall, marking an ERAU single-season doubles win record…the tandem was ranked No. 1 in the NAIA for the entire season. Fall 2013: Zmak did not drop a single set in five matches on the way to the USTA/ITA regional singles title…racked up an 11-2 singles record…his only two losses were hard-fought, three-set battles against NCAA I foes at the ITA Indoor National Championships…Zmak and Felix became the first doubles team in program history to win an ITA Super Bowl doubles title and registered an 8-7 upset of the third-ranked NCAA I team of Marcos Giron and Makenzie Macdonald of UCLA (Nov. 7)…Zmak and Felix were 9-1 in fall play.
 
As A Freshman in 2012-13: NAIA first team All-American…ITA All-American in singles and doubles…recipient of the NAIA’s Ward-Ballinger Award, which is presented to the individual at the national tournament who exhibited outstanding play, leadership and sportsmanship…Sun Conference Player of the Year…comprised half of the league’s Doubles Team of the Year in tandem with Chris Freeman…first team All-Conference selection… Academic All-Conference selection…named to the ERAU Athletics President’s team, which recognizes student-athletes with a 3.5 or better GPA for the academic year…closed out the season ranked third in the ITA/NAIA national singles poll…earned a 20-1 record in singles play, including a 15-0 mark at the top spot in the Eagle lineup…was a perfect 5-0 in league action…closed out his freshman campaign on a 19-match win streak…scored the clinching point in eight of the Eagles’ victories…his final match of the season was an epic three-set battle that saw Zmak stave off three championship points to top Auburn Montgomery’s Tim Hewitt 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (9-7) to clinch the Eagles first team national title (May 18)….turned in a 19-4 doubles record, including a 12-2 ledger in tandem with Freeman.
 
Prep: Graduated from Privatna Gimnazija Juraj Dobrila in July 2012…listed at No. 1in the ETA U16 rankings…No. 62 in the ITF U18 rankings in 2007…owned a 30-22 record in singles and a 22-17 mark in doubles as a junior player…
