Biography

Fall 2007: Listed at No. 11 in the ITA preseason poll...registered a 4-2 singles record...topped SCAD’s Willy Frei (6-3, 6-4) and Jan Menzen (6-4, 7-5) in the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively, at the ITA Florida Regional...lost in the regional tournament to doubles partner Mislav Hizak 6-3, 6-3)...the duo is ranked second in the ITA preseason poll...went 7-1 in fall competition...won the ITA regional doubles title for the second straight year...lost just two games in their first two matches at the ITA Small College National Championships, downing Spring Arbor’s Matt Lantz and Jordan Hoy 6-0, 6-1 and Graceland’s Remy Caffardo and Thomas Brodbeck 6-1, 6-0...took the top-ranked Fresno Pacific tandem of Matt Carroll and Vincent Joli to three sets before falling 7-6 (2), 6-7 (7), 10-7 in the championship match at the ITA national tournament.

As A Junior in 2006-07: ITA All-American...All-Florida Sun Conference selection...named to the All-Region team...NAIA All-America Scholar Athlete...ITA Scholar Athlete...FSC Academic All-Conference honoree... ERAU Champions of Character Scholarship recipient...had his third straight 20-win season, going 20-3, including a 14-1 dual match record and a 3-0 mark in conference play at No. 2 singles...won 14 straight matches between Feb. 9 and Apr. 7...went 7-1 against ranked opponents...topped No. 14 Dieter Weislmaier of Vanguard 6-0, 3-6, 7-5 (Mar. 20)...only loss in dual match play was to No. 15 Patrick Kur of Azusa Pacific (May 17)...defeated Xavier’s (La.) Terry Richardson 6-1, 6-2 in his only match at No. 1 singles (Mar. 10)...listed at No. 17 in the final ITA poll...partnered with Hizak for a 23-3 doubles record...the ended the season as the top-ranked duo in the country in the ITA...lost only one contest in doubles (9-7) to SCAD’s Jan Menzen and Dima Chiriacov (Feb. 24), finishing the year at 17-1in dual matches...avenged the loss to the SCAD duo with an 8-6 victory (Apr. 21) to lead the Eagles to their third straight regional crown. Fall 2006: Captured the C.L. Varner Flight "A" Consolation title with a 6-3, 6-4 decision over Palm Beach Atlantic's Brock Newton...participated in the ITA regional tournament where he won three matches before falling to Hizak in the regional finals...ranked 18th in the ITA fall poll...partnered with Hizak to go 7-2 in doubles action...the pair captured the ITA regional and ITA Small College National titles...only losses were to Florida Southern's Knoedler and Thesleff (9-8 (4)) in the finals of the C.L. Varner tournament and to Lynn's Riegraf and Carszuaa in the ITA "Super Bowl"...tabbed the No. 1 doubles team in the nation according to the ITA's fall rankings.

As A Sophomore in 2005-06: Posted a team-high 24 wins and lost just three matches...second team All-America selection...ITA All-American...went 18-1 in the spring, winning his last 17 matches...unbeaten in the Florida Sun Conference with a 5-0 league record...notched a pair of wins at No. 3 singles and was 10-0 in the No. 4 spot...his only loss in the spring was at No. 5 singles to NCAA II Barry's Dirk Benninghaus...posted a 12-8 doubles record, including a 4-5 mark with Carlos Bes and a 7-3 record with Mislav Hizak. Fall 2005: Won six of his eight fall contests...won ERAU Invitational "Blue Bracket" singles...played his way to the ITA Regional quarterfinals where he fell to doubles partner Hizak...won the ERAU Invitational and the ITA regional doubles titles with Hizak as his partner...the duo finished third in ITA National Small College Tournament.

As A Freshman in 2004-05: Spent most of season in the No.5 and 6 spots achieving a 21-win freshman season...attained second-team NAIA All American honors...joined with teammate Nicolas Bousquet to achieve a 17-2 doubles record...finished ranked fifth with Bousquet in ITA national doubles poll.

Prep: 2004 graduate of R. Paul Wharton... four-time Most Valuable Player at No. 1 singles...Florida State Doubles Champion (18's )... ranked in the top five in Florida for all age groups and ended his high school career ranked 17th in the state in Boys' 18 singles...National Juniors Top-50 in each age group...achieved a ranking of No. 18 in the Boys' 16 singles in 2002...twice received runner-up honors at No. 1 doubles at state finals...team captain as a senior...took third place in singles at the Florida Gator Bowl...Boys’ 18’s National Open Finalist in doubles...advanced to the Round of 16 in Kalamazoo doubles play in Boys’ 16’s and 18’s.

Born April 15, 1985...son of Orlin Lazarov...majoring in Air Traffic Management...named to Embry-Riddle’s Dean’s List three times...member of ERAU’s Air Traffic Control organization and the Slavik Club.
