Biography

Fall 2013: Teamed up with Deni Zmak to win the 2013 USTA/ITA National doubles crown…the duo became the first doubles team in program history to win an ITA Super Bowl doubles title and registered an 8-7 upset of the third-ranked NCAA I team of Marcos Giron and Makenzie Macdonald of UCLA (Nov. 7)…Zmak and Felix were 9-1 in fall play and are the top-ranked doubles team according to the ITA/NAIA national poll…ranked 18th in the ITA/NAIA Preseason singles poll…was 6-1 in singles play, including a perfect 3-0 at the ERAU Open (Sept. 16-18)…downed Warner’s Julian Ramirez Luna to advance to the semifinal round of the USTA/ITA Florida Regional.

As A Junior in 2012-13: Named to the All-Conference first team…NAIA Scholar-Athlete…Capital One First Team Academic All-American…Academic All-Conference selection… named to the ERAU Athletics President’s team, which recognizes student-athletes with a 3.5 or better GPA for the academic year…finished second on the team in singles wins with a 25-4 overall record, including a perfect 6-0 mark in conference play…played the majority of his matches at the No. 4 spot in the lineup where he was 10-1…closed out the season on a 20-match unbeaten streak…posted four shutouts on the year...posted the second 30-win doubles season of his career, finishing a 30-4 on the year…tied the Eagles’ singles-season record for doubles wins…was 21-3 in tandem with Kevin Chaouat…Fall 2012: …posted a 5-2 singles record…advanced to the semifinal round of the USTA/ITA Florida Regional where he fell to teammate Patrick Besch 6-4, 6-3… teamed up with Besch for an 8-1 doubles ledger…the duo captured the USTA/ITA Regional crown before closing out the fall with a 7-5, 6-4 loss to Pinones and Tim Hewitt in the title match of the ITA/NAIA national doubles championship… Besch and Felix were the second-ranked doubles team in the NAIA preseason national doubles poll.
 
As A Sophomore in 2011-12: Earned second team NAIA All-American honors…ITA All-American…first team All-Conference selection…recipient of The Sun Conference Champions of Character Award… Capital One College Division Academic All-America first team selection …Academic All-Conference honoree…22-5 overall singles record was worthy of the No. 15 national ranking…played in the No. 3 spot for the Eagles, compiling a 10-4 record…one of two Eagles to go 6-0 in conference play…owned a 12-match winning streak from Jan. 31 to Mar. 19…garnered conference Player of the Week honors on three occasions…recognized as the National Player of the Week on Mar. 12…earned a 23-5 record in doubles play in tandem with Peter Francis…the duo played the majority of its matches at the No. 3 spot going 18-4 and 6-0 against league competition…the duo went undefeated from Mar. 6 to May 16 notching wins against NCAA I No. 1 Armstrong Atlantic (Apr. 12) and No. 4 Lynn (Apr. 1)…Felix and Francis were ranked 18th in the final ITA/NAIA national poll. Fall 2011: Turned in a 5-1 record in fall singles play…only loss was to teammate Chris Freeman (2-6, 6-4, 1-6) in the championship match of the USTA/ITA Florida Regional (Oct. 2)...owned a 4-1 doubles mark in partnership with Peter Francis…the pair advanced to the title match of the USTA/ITA Florida Regional where they closed out the fall season with a 6-1, 6-1 loss to teammates and eventual national champions Adrian Bayh and Patrick Besch.

As A Freshman in 2010-11: Second team All-American…named first team All-Conference…tied ERAU’s single-season wins record with his 30-3 singles mark…earned a team-best 20-1 record in dual matches and was a perfect 4-0 in Sun Conference matches…closed out his first season with the Eagles on a 13-match winning streak…shutout his opponents in nine matches…scored the clincher for the Eagles in five contests…named the NAIA Men’s Tennis National Player of the Week on Mar. 30….two-time Sun Conference Player of the Week…compiled a 30-7 doubles record with four different partners…teamed up with Peter Francis for a 14-1 ledger…they were ranked 24th in the final ITA/NAIA national poll of 2011 and owned a 14-match winning streak from Mar. 8-May 20. Fall 2010: Posted a 9-2 singles record in fall play…blanked Warner’s Kevin Sokal 6-0, 6-0 in the first round of the USTA/ITA Florida Regional (Oct. 3)…dropped just six games in his next three matches to advance to the regional semifinals….upended second-seeded teammate Peter Francis 1-6, 6-3, 6-2 to earn a spot in the championship match where he fell to teammate Charlie Rice 3-6, 4-6…teamed up with Rice for an 8-4 mark in doubles play…the duo dropped just two sets in the first three rounds of the USTA/ITA Regional on the way to the regional doubles crown…the tandem won its opening match against Graceland’s Kai Drewcki and Carlos Yanes en route to a fourth-place finish and the USTA/ITA National Small College Championships.

Prep: Graduated from Centre National d’Enseignement À Distance (CNED) in 2010.

Personal: Born in Krugersdorp, South Africa on May 19, 1991…parents are Gerard and Renee Felix…majoring in Air Traffic Management.
