Biography

2013-14: INDOOR: Earned All-America honors in the heptathlon with an eighth place finish at the NAIA National Championships (March 6-8) while setting personal records in all seven events (60m (7.31), long jump (6.27m), shot put (12.30m), high jump (1.80m), 60m hurdles (9.03), pole vault (4.75m), 1000m (3:11.66))…finished 14th overall in the pole vault at the NAIA National Championships…season best park of 4.75m in the pole vault at ERAU Last Chance (Feb. 22)…named NAIA Champions of Character award winner at the conclusion of the season.  OUTDOOR: Became an All-American in the decathlon after finishing sixth at the NAIA National Championships (May 22-24) with a school record 6700 point, while also setting personal record in five events (110m hurdles (16.38), discus throw (39.95m), 1500m (5:20.66), long jump (6.34m), 400m (51.40))…also named an All-American in the pole vault with a sixth place finish at nationals with a personal record mark of 4.90m…All-Conference performer in the javelin throw, finishing first in the event at The Sun Conference Championships (April 21) with a conference championship record of 57.30m…finished first in the javelin throw at the Black and Gold Invitational (May 3) with a 55.10m mark.

2012-13: INDOOR – Competed in two meets for the Eagles…finished 16th in 4.25m in the pole vault at the Jimmy Carnes Invitational (Jan. 27)…placed second in the javelin with a 50.74m mark at the ERAU Last Chance meet (Feb. 16). OUTDOOR: Competed in eight meets for the Blue and Gold…best mark in the pole vault of the season came at the ERAU Spikes Classic (April 6) with a 4.70m good for third place…won the javelin with a college-best mark of 53.73m at the ERAU Spikes Classic…earned All-Sun Conference Selections in the javelin with a second place finish (51.84), the discus with a third place college-best mark of 35.77m, and in the pole vault with a third place finish (4.40m) at The Sun Conference Championships (April 22). 

AT ORANGE COAST COLLEGE: Competed at OCC in 2010-11…placed third in the javelin (58.44m) and ninth in the decathlon (5709) at the Southern California Championships…finished sixth at the California State Championships in the javelin (57.63m)…named most improved athlete at OCC for his improvement in the javelin.

AT ANTELOPE VALLEY COLLEGE: Spent the 2009-10 season competing for Antelope Valley College…won the Foothill Conference Championship in the javelin…finished as runner-up in the pole vault at the conference meet.
 
PREP: 2009 graduate of Quartz Hill High School…won the league championship in the pole vault as a junior and again as a senior…vaulted a career-high 4.22m as a senior.
 
PERSONAL: Born in Lompoc, Calif. on Feb. 10, 1991…son of Stan and Joan Turner…pursuing a degree in Business Administration.
