2017-18: INDOOR: Finished 10th in the pole vault (2.90m) at the ERAU Indoor-Outdoor Challenge (Jan. 20). OUTDOOR: Registered a personal record with a 9.13m in the shot put at the ERAU-West Virginia Wesleyan Dual (March 5)…tossed a personal-best distance of 38.59m in the javelin at the Embry-Riddle Spikes Classic (Apr. 6-7).
 
2016-17: INDOOR: Recorded a personal-best 4.10m in the pole vault at the ERAU Indoor-Outdoor Challenge (Jan. 21). OUTDOOR: Finished third with a season-best 3.95m in the pole vault at the ERAU First Chance-Last Chance (Feb. 18).
 
2015-16: INDOOR: Competed in the pole vault at the Embry-Riddle Indoor-Outdoor Challenge, recording no height (Jan. 23). OUTDOOR: Posted a 3.80m in the pole vault at the ERAU-West Virginia Wesleyan Dual (Feb. 27)…equaled his mark of 3.80m in the pole vault at the Florida DII Intercollegiate Invitational to finish fourth in the event (April 16).
 
PREP: Graduated from Quartz Hill High School in 2015…three-year captain of the pole vault team…placed in the top in 20 in California in 2015…competed in the CIF prelims and finals in the pole vault…personal-best is 14’7”.
 
PERSONAL: Born in Palmdale, Calif. on December 29, 1996…son of Julie and Louis Kocina…majoring in Aerospace Engineering…is an Eagle Scout…volunteered at local trails, church, St. Vincent de Paul and supplied holiday meals to those in need…member of the Marine Option Naval ROTC unit.
