Biography
2017-18: INDOOR: Posted a season-best 1.75m in the high jump at the ERAU Indoor-Outdoor Challenge (Jan. 20). OUTDOOR: Recorded career-best 5.51m in the long jump and a season-best 1.70m in the high jump at the ERAU-West Virginia Wesleyan Dual (March 5).
2016-17: INDOOR: Recorded a 1.68m in the high jump at the ERAU Indoor-Outdoor Challenge (Jan. 21). OUTDOOR: Set career-best mark of 4.30m in the pole vault at the 11th Spring Class Invitational (March 18)…posted career-best 1.75m in the high jump at the ERAU Spikes Classic (April 1).
2015-16: INDOOR: Established career-best height of 3.95m in the pole vault at the Embry-Riddle Last Chance Meet (Feb. 20)…took second place in the pole vault at the Embry-Riddle Indoor/Outdoor Challenge with a height of 3.65m (Jan. 23). OUTDOOR: Utilized redshirt.
PREP: Graduated from Wheaton North High School in May 2015…competed on the track team under Head Coach Don Helberg…personal-best in the pole vault was 14’6”…personal-best in the high jump was 5’10”…was a 2014 Conference and Section Champion…placed eighth in the pole vault at the State Championships in 2014…2014 AAU All-American…2013 and 2014 USATF State and Regional Champion in the pole vault…2011-14 Academic All-Conference…2014 Athletic All-Conference selection.
PERSONAL: Born in Wheaton, Ill. on August, 15, 1997…son of Ambrose and Kristy Contreras…majoring Mechanical Engineering…participated in Boy Scouts and was a Falcon Ambassador in high school.
