2016: INDOOR: Opened the season by winning the weight throw at the Embry-Riddle Indoor/Outdoor Challenge with a mark of 14.39m (Jan. 23)…tossed a season-best 14.09m in the shot put at the KMS Invitational (Jan. 31)…recorded a career-high mark of 15.19m in the weight throw at the Samford Open (Feb. 12). OUTDOOR: Set career high in the javelin with a distance of 32.67m at the Spikes Classic (April 1)…threw the discus 42.10m, a career best, at the Shamrock Invitational (March 18)…established new career high in the shot put with a mark of 14.36m at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational (April 9)…closed out the season with a career-best 41.43m in the hammer at the Florida DII Intercollegiate Invitational (April 16).
 
2015: INDOOR: Competed in three events at the Embry-Riddle Indoor/Outdoor Challenge (Jan. 17), posting marks of 11.87m (weight throw), 12.58m (shot put) and 36.44m (discus). OUTDOOR: Threw the discus 39.61m at the Embry-Riddle Spikes Classic (April 4) before throwing the hammer 28.03m at the same meet.
 
PREP: 2014 graduate of Batesburg-Leesville High School.
 
PERSONAL: Born in Columbia, S.C. on June 19, 1995…son of Nancy Hopkins and Franklin Simpson…majoring in Air Traffic Management.
