Biography

2016: Utilized redshirt.
 
2015: INDOOR: Participated in five meets during the indoor season…came in second in the weight throw (14.31m) at the Jimmy Carnes Invitational (Jan. 23)…finished seventh overall with a throw of 12.45m in the shot put at the Embry-Riddle Indoor/Outdoor Challenge (Jan. 17). OUTDOOR: All-Sun Conference performer in the hammer, placing first with a throw of 45.15m at The Sun Conference Championships (April 19)…also posted career-best marks in the shot put (13.38m) and hammer (45.15m) at the conference meet.
 
2014: INDOOR: Competed in three meets…placed third in the weight throw at the Jimmy Carnes Invitational (Jan. 17) with a mark of 12.64m…top marks of the season included 13.20m in the weight throw and 12.28m in the shot put at the ERAU Last Chance Meet (Feb. 22).  OUTDOOR: Competed in five meets…set multiple personal bests during the season including 12.54m in the shot put at the FSU Relays (March 21-22), as well as 41.41m in the discus throw, 40.74m in the hammer throw, and 34.18m in the javelin throw at the Embry-Riddle Spike’s Classic (April 4-5).
 
PREP: Graduated from Country Christian School in June 2013…competed in track and field under head coaches Gary Fisher, Sharon Farner (mother) and Quinten Baxter…personal-best in the shot put is 51’7” and personal-best in discus is 157’9”…Oregon Class 4A State Champion in the Shot Put…Most Valuable Field Athlete…class Valedictorian.
 
PERSONAL: Born in Oregon City, Ore. on June 7, 1994…parents are Daniel and Sharon Farner…mother, Sharon, is high school track and field coach…mother was varsity track and field athlete at Western Oregon...father was varsity football player at Western Oregon...sister runs track at Seattle Pacific…a four-year scholarship cadet in the AFROTC…majors in Aerospace Engineering…hopes to be an officer in the U.S. Air Force.
