Following a decorated playing career with the Eagles from 2022-26, Kailey Turpening transitioned to join the Embry-Riddle women's basketball coaching staff in August 2026.
During her time on the court, Turpening won a Sunshine State Conference regular season and tournament championship after posting a 27-5 overall record, while going 17-3 in conference play in the 2024-25 season. That same year, the Bethlehem, Pennsylvania native was the recipient of the Steve & Vicky Ridder scholarship winner, recognizing her as the top female student-athlete at ERAU.
By the end of her career, Turpening owned three program records including most assists in a game (13), best free-throw percentage in a season (.922 in 2025-26), and best career free-throw percentage (.885). In addition to the record, she holds four of the top five single-game assist marks in program history. The Eagles posted an 82-36 record during her career and qualified for three consecutive national tournaments from 2024-2026.
Turpening's accomplishments include being named Third Team All-SSC as a senior in 2025-26, being recognized on the SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll during each year of her career, and earning the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award as a junior and senior. She graduated in May 2026 with a bachelor's degree in Computational Mathematics and is now pursuing a master's degree in Business Administration.
