Alex Martinez Roca

Alex Martinez Roca joined the ERAU Tennis coaching staff as a graduate assistant in 2022. Martinez Roca came to Embry-Riddle from Midwestern State University where he played five seasons for the Mustangs tennis team, coached by former ERAU men’s and women’s tennis coach Scott Linn. 

Martinez Roca compiled a 70-20 overall singles record and spent the last two seasons of his collegiate career playing at the top spot in the Mustangs’ lineup. His 62-20 career doubles ledger included a 20-3 mark at No. 1 doubles in 2022. Those numbers earned him a season-best No. 14 national ranking in singles and a No. 4 ranking in the final doubles poll of the year. 

A three-time All-Lone Star Conference honoree in singles and a two-time selection in doubles, Martinez Roca was named the ITA South Central Region and LSC Player of the Year in 2022. He was also a three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete and was named to the LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll six times. 

Martinez Roca is a native of Castelldefels, Spain who earned his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Midwestern State and is pursuing a master’s degree in Unmanned and Autonomous Systems at Embry-Riddle.Â
