Embry-Riddle Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach Dave PaschalĀ announced the addition of Chris Wollett as an assistant coach to both programs in January 2015.
In his first season with the Eagles, Wollett helped guide the Embry-Riddle womenās team to a runner-up Sun Conference finish and an NAIA National Championship quarterfinal appearance, while the men captured conference regular season and tournament titles on the way to an NAIA national runner-up finish.
Originally from Ocala, Fla., Wollett came to Embry-Riddle from the College of Charleston where he served as the assistant coach for the NCAA I men's and women's tennis programs last season. The 2014 Cougars men's team achieved a No. 64 ITA national ranking during the season and notched wins against No. 57 Iowa, UC Riverside and Georgia State on the way to an 18-6 overall record. The women's team was 18-8, earning wins against the University of Massachusetts and No. 65 Iowa. Both teams posted runner-up finishes in Colonial Athletic Association tournament play.
Prior to going to College of Charleston, Wollett was the head coach of the women's tennis program at Western Carolina University from 2010-13 and before that, he was the Director of Tennis at the Country Club of Ocala in Ocala, Fla.
Wollett played two seasons of collegiate tennis at the University of Mary Washington where he helped the Eagles to a national tournament appearance and a top-10 ranking in NCAA III in 2002. He then transferred to the University of North Florida where he earned his undergraduate degree in International Studies in 2003. Wollett completd his Master of Science degree in Kinesiology from Georgia Southern in 2016.
