Biography
Fall 2011: Garnered a No. 14 ranking in the ITA/NAIA preseason singles poll…earned a 4-2 singles record…recorded a pair of shutouts in the USTA/ITA Florida regional on the way to the semifinals where she lost to SCAD Savannah’s Theresa Schmaus in three sets (6-4, 1-6, 2-6)… teamed up with Rocio Fre Vitalle for a 5-1 record in doubles play…the duo’s only loss was to teammates Yi Ching Chen and Josefine Strom in the championship match of the ITA Florida Regional on Oct. 3 (3-6, 7-5, 7-10)…Kamendova and Frej Vitalle are ranked seventh in the ITA/NAIA national doubles preseason poll.
As A Junior in 2010-11: First team NAIA All-American…ITA All-American…first team All-Conference selection…ranked ninth in the final ITA/NAIA national poll…joined the Eagle lineup in the spring…owned a 19-6 singles record and 4-1 mark in conference play…selected at the ITA/NAIA Player to Watch…named the NAIA National Player of the Week on Apr. 14…garnered Sun Conference Player of the Week honors on Feb. 14 and Apr. 11…got 13 wins at No. 2 singles and was 5-0 at the No. 1 position…owned a 12-match winning streak from Mar. 8 to Apr. 9…registered the clinching points against Southern Nazarene (Mar. 16), Oklahoma Baptist (Mar. 19), Northwestern Ohio (Mar. 21) and Ave Maria (Mar. 22)…also clinched the Eagles’ semifinal win against Concordia (Calif.) with 6-1, 6-3 defeat of Jordan Kimura (May 20)… teamed up with Rocio Frej Vitalle for a 24-2 doubles record…the duo closed out the year ranked 13th nationally…Frej Vitalle and Kamendova were 19-2 at No. 2 doubles and a perfect 5-0 at the top spot and in league play…they posted four shutouts on the year, including two at the NAIA National Tournament against Indiana Wesleyan (May) and Concordia (Calif.) (May 20).
At Washington State: Played two seasons for the Cougars…closed out her freshman campaign a 21-16 record…ranked second on the team in total wins and recorded the most wins by a freshman on the season…posted a 19-16 during doubles play while teamed with three different teammates…played 19 matches at the No. 1 singles position as a sophomore…posted a 13-16 singles mark in her second season at WSU…paired with four different teammates for a 9-19 doubles record…turned in a 7-2 tally in fall play and captured the singles title at the Cougar Classic.
Prep: Graduated from School #19 in 2006…was ranked as high as No. 4 in the national junior ranking in girls under 14 in 2003…attained a No. 15 national ranking in 2004…also won two national juniors tournaments and reached the finals in three others.
Personal: Born in Sochi, Russia…parents are Taras and Elena Kamendova…both parents are tennis coaches…majoring in Aviation Business Management.
