Fall 2013: Earned a 3-3 singles record…all three victories came in USTA/ITA Regional play…turned in a 3-2 record in doubles action…teamed up with Meena Bennett for a 2-1 ledger.
As A Junior in 2012-13: Honorable mention All-American…named to the All-Sun Conference first team…ended her junior campaign at 10-7 in singles action, playing all 17 matches at the No. 3 spot in the Eagle lineup…one of only two Eagles to earn perfect league records at 5-0…posted three shutouts on the year…clinched the Eagles’ win over conference foe Northwood (Feb. 20) with a 6-4, 6-4 defeat of Adelaide Wood…partnered with Giovanna Tomiotto for a 12-10 doubles mark…the duo went 6-1 in conference play.
As a Sophomore in 2011-12: First team All-Conference selction…played primarily at the No. 6 position, registering a 10-4 record at that spot and a 14-4 record overall…recorded perfect 6-0 mark in conference matches…earned Sun Conference Player of the Week honors on Feb. 20…partnered with Kristina Marova for a 22-5 doubles record… only duo to record six doubles wins in conference play…earned a 19-4 doubles record at the No. 3 position…the duo registered 7 shutouts and finished the 2012 season with 7 straight victories.??Fall 2011: Posted a 1-3 mark in tournament singles play…topped Webber International’s Nathalia Chaddad in the opening round of the USTA/ITA Florida Regional… teamed up with Kristina Marova for a 2-1 doubles record…Montero and Marova played their way into the semifinals of the USTA/ITA Florida Regional where they fell to teammates Yi Ching Chen and Josefine Strom 6-0, 6-3 (Oct. 1)…the pair was ranked 14th in the national preseason poll.??
As A Freshman in 2010-11: Joined the Eagle lineup in the spring…posted a perfect 10-0 singles record with seven of those wins coming a the sixth position…scored the clincher in ERAU’s 9-0 shutout of Tampa (Feb. 6)…registered five shutouts on the year, including a 6-0, 6-0 decision against Webber International’s Zulema Robles Renahe in The Sun Conference Tournament semifinals (Apr. 15)… partnered with Kristina Marova for a 20-3 doubles record…the duo played all 23 matches at the No. 3 doubles position and was 4-0 in The Sun Conference…Montero and Marova registered 12 shutouts and ended the 2011 campaign on a 13-match winning streak.??
Prep: 2009 graduate of Nuestra Senora de la Consolacion High School…coached by former ATP professional tennis player Carlos Bianchi…2006 Junior Orange Bowl Tennis Champion…Caselys Camps Junior International Finalist (2006)…won two singles and two doubles tournament titles in Venezuela in 2009...selected to represent Venezuela at South American Tennis 2005 in Quito, Ecuador…achieved a No. 7 ranking in the Girls 18 category by the Venezuelan Tennis Federation…ranked as high as No.5 in the Girls 14 category and No. 24 in Girls 16.??
