Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Athletics

As a Junior in 2010: Named Libero of the Year in her first season at Embry-Riddle…one of six Eagles named to the All-Conference team…played in all 125 sets for the Blue and Gold…led the conference in digs (673) and digs/set (5.38), both of which established new ERAU single-season records as well…her 673 digs were 198 more than anyone else in The Sun Conference and 194 more than the previous school record (Brooke Geiger – 479, 2003)…immediately stepped into first place in school’s all-time digs/set leaders with 5.38…ranked second on the team with 81 assists and third with 34 service aces…set new ERAU single-match record with 42 digs in 3-1 win over Wayland Baptist on Sept. 2…recorded 37 digs in a 3-1 win against Shorter (Ga.) on Oct. 15…tallied three service aces, two assists and 19 digs in ERAU’s NAIA Opening Round win over Union (Ky.) in three sets on Nov. 20…averaged 21.75 digs/match in the Eagles’ four NAIA National Championship matches.

At Florida State College at Jacksonville: NJCAA second team All-American...FCCAA All-State and All-Region selection as a sophomore…Mid-Florida Conference Player of the Year as a sophomore…led the Stars to the Mid-Florida Conference title and a 32-6 overall record in 2009…two-time first team All-Conference selection…recipient of the Stars’ Coach’s Award…named to the FSCJ Fall Volleyball Classic All-Tournament team.

Prep: Graduated from Gimnazija Slovenj Gradec in 2008… played for the Youth team and named “Best Libero” at Mevza tournament… named tournament MVP at the 2006 Beach Volleyball High School National Tournament where she led her team to first place.

Personal: Born in Slovenj Gradec, Slovenia on Oct. 3, 1989… parents are Janez Kontrec and Alenka Jakopic… a Communications major… volunteered with the Jacksonville Breast Cancer run.
