As a Freshman in 2012: Appeared in 109 sets in 31 matches…registered 273 digs, fourth-best on the team…also tallied 27 kills, 27 service aces and 12 blocks…recorded season-high 25 digs in 3-1 win over Indiana Tech (Sept. 7)…eclipsed the 20-dig mark for the second time with 20 digs in 3-1 win over Grand View (Sept. 14)…picked up season-highs with three blocks and five kills to go along with 18 digs in 3-1 loss to Flagler (Sept. 25).
Prep: Graduated from Sammon Keskuslukio in 2012…during her time there, participated in Finland’s junior national team training center…chosen to represent Finland on the U16 junior national team in 2008 and the U17 junior national team in 2009…also played for the Southwestern Finland regional team, which was twice the winner and twice the runner-up of the Finnish national club tournament.
Personal: Born Feb. 26, 1993…daughter of Matti and Sirpa Hietala…is majoring in Business.
