Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Athletics

Butch Samide joins the ERAU strength and conditioning staff as a professional intern for the 2025-26 season. He has completed his Master of Science in Sport Management at Florida State University, where he also completed his bachelor’s degree. Samide brings experience from collegiate and high school athletics, including roles with Florida State Football and Battle Ground Academy.

Samide supported "return-to-play" programming, athlete monitoring, and performance testing, working with technologies such as ForceDex, NordBord, timing gates, and velocity-based training systems. He has also contributed to program design, warm-up development, and data-driven reporting using Catapult systems.

Samide is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCS) and has additional experience coaching middle school and high school athletes across multiple sports. His background also includes volunteer work with Special Olympics and high school football, where he developed foundational skills in periodization, exercise progression, and athlete mentorship.
