Michael Chaffman was named Embry-Riddle's Assistant AD of Athletic Facilities and Operations in November 2024, after serving as the athletic department Athletic Operations Manager since 2022.
Before ERAU, Chaffman spent the previous year working as an Administrative Assistant for Embry-Riddle’s Worldwide College of Business where he managed the day-to-day operations including completing expense reports for the Dean’s Office and assisting in managing the Associate Dean’s budget.
Prior to that, Chaffman was an Account Executive at Brown & Brown Insurance for two years beginning in 2019. While there, he was responsible for managing accounts and maintaining accurate financial data.
From 2015-2019, Chaffman worked under Ryan Ridder, the son of Embry-Riddle Men’s Basketball Head Coach Steve Ridder and an ERAU men’s basketball alum. Under Ridder’s direction, Chaffman served as the Head Student Assistant for the men’s basketball program at Daytona State College from 2015 to 2017. He handled the allocation of the team’s equipment budget and managed multimedia assets for internal review.
Chaffman followed Ridder to Bethune-Cookman in 2017 under the same role but with additional responsibility such as overseeing all travel-related logistics and distributing per diem funds.
Chaffman graduated from Bethune-Cookman with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in the spring of 2019.
