Giovanna Tomiotto of the women's tennis team has earned the Embry-Riddle Female Athlete of the Week honor for the week of March 14-20. Tomiotto went 3-1 on the week as the Eagles split a pair of matches. She and Meena Bennett teamed up for an 8-5 win over Rachel Wagner and Yolanda Green at the number three doubles spot to give ERAU a 3-0 lead over Southern New Hampshire. Tomiotto then won the number four singles match as Green retired prior to the second set after Tomiotto cruised to a 6-0 first-set win, helping the Eagles secure their second 9-0 shutout of the season. On Wednesday, Tomiotto and Bennett fell at #3 doubles, 8-3, to Valeria Mantilla and Dianna Vlad of West Florida. Tomiotto bounced back with a 7-5, 6-3 win at #4 singles over Vlad, one of two victories the Eagles posted in a 7-2 loss to sixth-ranked UWF.
