Sophomore pitcher/utility player Jayla Jackson has earned the Embry-Riddle Female Athlete of the Week honor for the week of Jan. 29-Feb. 4. For Jackson, it is the first weekly award of her career. She earned the award after helping the Eagles open the season with a pair of victories on Saturday, earning the save in game one and the win in game two. Jackson tossed the final inning in ERAU's 3-2 win over Georgia College to open the day, striking out two while allowing just one hit. In game two, Jackson pitched the first six innings, giving up three runs on six hits, striking out seven and walking three as Embry-Riddle defeated Montevallo by a score of 7-3.
